Thanasis and Afroviti have lived in the beautiful and second-largest Greek city of Thessaloniki. They’ve spent more than seven years working in Greek Taverna and busy Greek restaurants in Thessaloniki. Always motivated and with a dream that one day they would build their business with the ideology and goal to share the great authentic taste of Greek Cuisine with as many people.
It was all conceived in one of the touristic journeys in the United Kingdom. While out for dinner in Crawley with some friends, the Greek Food topic couldn’t stay out of the conversation, it was pointed out as a missing option in the area, which led Thanas to start a research and think it through as a very good option and path to finally make their dream come true.
Most of you know or have heard once of Aphrodite (Afroditi), the goddess of love and beauty from Greek Mythology. It turns up that the love and beauty goddess is not just a myth but it exist and is found under different name in the person you choose to live and share your life with. Hence there is only one Goddess of Love and Beauty for Thanasis, and she is called Afroviti, and that’s why our small beloved business is called Greek Gyros Afroviti.
Greek cuisine is like art and drawing a painting. It is limitless in terms of variations but you decide what you want to offer. As much as we would love to offer as many options and traditional Greek dishes to Crawley we had to make a selection of the most popular also most wanted flavours and dietary options. We have quite a large selection and options on our menu, starting from the well-known and beloved Gyros, Souvlaki, Slowly Cooked Souvlas, and also the traditional homemade Mousaka and Pasticio and a few others which we suggest you explore on our Menu.
